Emirates Villages

"Emirates Villages" is one of the Emirates Council for Rural Development projects. It aims at enhancing the quality of life in UAE’s different regions, providing opportunities for citizens and ensuring a better future.

The project is based on 5 development tracks, including:

Infrastructure development
Coordination and beautification of villages
Awareness of the historical and archaeological importance
Launching commercial and economic projects and initiate a series of media campaigns.
The goal is to highlight the most important landmarks in the villages and enhances its position on the country’s domestic tourism map.

Objectives

Develop village sites, services, entertainment and heritage facilities in accordance with international best practices.

Create development and economic opportunities in the villages.

Promote investments at economic, social, touristic, entertainment and cultural levels.

Provide best services, facilities, tourism and sports activities and transform villages into tourist destinations

H.H Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan chairs the Emirates Council for Rural Development. The Council is responsible of supervising and managing rual development projects, coordinating with relevant ministries and local authorities on development plans for UAE’s villages, following up on the implementation of projects, and approving the proposed regions and the fields of partnerships with the private sector, especially national companies.
Rural development projects are a main pillar to support the national economy and achieve social stability, as well as adopting green environmental solutions and integrating new technologies and methods to estimate water and energy consumption in the targeted regions and villages.
